Working the night shift
Softly, quietly, in silence, my eyes close as I fall off to sleep. Through my window to the east, the sky brightens in anticipation of the coming sun. As my mind drifts and I travel into the strange worlds and dreamscapes, people nearby are starting to stir, the dust of their dreams fading from memory.

Slowly and stiffly they rise from their beds, getting ready for the day ahead, another day just like the one before. Monotony makes the days drag on to months, years, neverending sameness. As the sun moves higher, the world starts moving a little faster.

The night shift is over and the dayshift begins.
