A Chasing after the wind
He Restores my Soul{/b}

As a Christian pilgrim on a long journey home, I have known the turbulence of life, the challenges and the troubles that frequently capture and temporarily enslave our minds stealing the peace we have been freely given. I am well acquainted with the restlessness and unrest longing to lay hold of inner quietness again. Transient periods of frustrations, misery, depression, anxiety, discouragements and disappointments are a regular threat. Their claws often lay hold of our hearts and threaten to choke it to death. Prayers become weighty and distracted. Rather than seek the lifter of our countenance, we have often sought other distractors to make the weights more bearable - usually a futile and frustrating tactic.

The Psalmist knows better. He depends on God to restore his soul. My own eyes have seen his glory. I myself have experience his peace even in the midst of the storm. God readily restores peace and tranquility and the restlessness dissolves like salt in water with no trace of fear or frustration. The presence of God is a sure fortress and a cubicle of refreshment and rejuvenation. Like David, one thing I desire of the Lord, that will I seek after for the rest of my life- That I may dwell in his presence all the days of my life.
According to Psalm 84 verse 4, "Blessed are those who dwell in your presence, they are always filled with praise"
