A poem for a contest.
Dark, grey, cumulonimbus clouds afloat
In the lake of the dull sky like a boat.
Billowy, fleecy, flocculent clouds peep
From the drab, white lacunae inside deep.
Strong, cold gusts rattle the feeble branches
Of my shrubs and then abrupt rain gushes.
Soaked in rain ,the green plants bespeak verdure.
Moist with beads of water, velvet sheen lure.
Deep- pink bougainvilleas fully drenched,
Invite tales of beauty and lust unquenched.
In puddles children squeal with fun and splash,
Rain splatters, streams down like a birthday bash.
The wet Nature now presents loveliness,
Forms an emotion of togetherness.
The divine charm brings celestial joy,
A bliss, puerile , that no one can destroy.
The bedaubed flora of extreme beauty,
Savours this lonely heart of mine plenty.
A pretty feast for the eyes they present,
An aura of happiness they beget.
Toying with this delicate elegance,
Is a ludicrous act of sheer nonsense.
Pay homage to this divine creation,
A sculpted pulchritude of perfection.
The smooth leaves frame a glossy greenery,
Of vivid colors form a scenery.
