ME ON THE MENU A mosquito went a'hovering A'buzzing, a'fluttering. I was then forced into covering My precious skin; muttering. Muttering, swatting, flailing, stomping Causing blood flow to quicken. Enticing famished bug's chomping, And me with itching stricken. Stricken, scratching; raising swollen welts Really seemed to advertise For scores of midges sharp, quick and svelte, Tender, jiggly, exposed thighs. Thighs, shins, arms, shaking head, a torso; Mosquitoes warm smorgasbord. An unprepared, unwilling morsel, Me with no repellent sword. Sword of mint, citronella, or DEET; Outdoorsmen's weapon repels Bloodthirsty insects like skeets And amorous friends as well. Many mosquitoes whirring, whining, And miserable me too. Obviously alfresco dining Is my meal AND me on the menu. 24 lines, 115 words
