Well, it's about a rush.
The Rush

I took it,
The little white papers.
There they sat,
For what seemed like forever.
Idle and waiting,
For something to take hold.

What was I waiting for?
Would it be right?
How will it take me?
No one really knows.

Soon, I began to fall,
Upward, into the sky.
Where the clouds,
Floated around me without a care.
I closed my eyes,
Moved with them, so light.

Do you see me?
Up here, so high?
No? But the view,
Is so nice.

I can see my imagination,
Unfolding down there.
Rushing out,
In every direction.
Filling,
Every inch of light.
So, pretty.

Colors,
Shapes,
Patterns,
Lines.
All moving,
Independently.

Here, I'll flutter,
On my wings of bliss.
Until the universe,
Calls me back.

Then I'll look upon the world,
With whole new eyes.
See past the haze,
And take in this new reality.

They say one day,
We all fall.
From here, I know,
I will float gracefully down.
To the smiles I see,
Below me.

No one will ever know,
What I have seen.
The rush as it flowed,
Over my mind and body.
Opening,
Every pore,
Of my being,
To the real.

I am back now,
Normal and sitting.
Looking around,
Where my world exists.
The colors are there,
Less vivid than before.

Still and calm,
No vibration any more.

Sometimes, I see the trails,
Of one such rush.
Still a part of the real,
I now know.

Can't take it from me now.
Changing forever.
The rush inside my head.
