[Introduction]
Darkness

When we shut ourselves in a state of complete darkness, no smear of light, no movement in the air, so dark not even shadows exist. What are we trying to achieve? The silence of darkness to sooth the soul, the soul corrupted by outside noise and sights triggering inattentive subconcious thoughts and feelings. Why do we do it? Are we trying to block the unwanted influence of life and experiences. Is it simply an ignorant attempt at self preservation. If so what are we trying to preserve.... how do we preserve oneself if the body in which our mind resides has already seen life outside of the darkness and heard the sounds of true objects moving and colliding with no real purpose. Surely our minds are already corrupted.

The truth is, no matter the amount of will and pure intention we put forward to creating this silent darkness. We are never in the darkness with nothing. Prior experince and influence leave our minds constantly active, conversing with its own conflicted thoughts with nothing but its self to provide stimulation. So why do we do it? Is to simulate the still nothingness we expect from death. Is it to prepare ourselves for what will inevitably be.....nothing?

We will never truly experience nothing until we are at the eyes of death itself. Maybe sometimes we are mearly overwhelmed by our own thoughts and the outside sights and noises making the conversations in our minds sporadically change topic and adding unwanted questions with no answers to the shear weight of undecided feelings and thoughts we contain awaiting important answers, preventing us to continue with life as it stands. So maybe we do not want the darkness to bring silence at all. What if it is to bring volume to existing corruption, to hear the accumulated mass of unanswered questions clearly and contain some form of action or intention of clarity, leaving space for future influences of life.

We all have our own speculation as to why we do certain things but once again this is a question brought to conversation in our own minds with no one but itself to respond.
