While other banks exchange money, the Bureau de Change deals in more rarefied commodities - points of IQ, aspects of beauty or units of height and weight are all currency to the Bureau, while years of life are their most used form of exchange. Through the Bureau, all personal attributes can be purchased and sold, exchanged, or invested.

Any attribute can be traded, with the exchange rate dependent on how in-demand that particular attribute is and with the bureau taking it's own cut. Years are highly valued commodities and a stable investment, while the value of other attributes like cups (the unit by which breast size is traded), masculinity-femininity or skin pigmentation fluctuates depending on the latest trends. Many traders make a living playing the attribute market.

A client of the bureau may choose to bank any amount or type of attribute that they please into their account, and in return they receive a certain amount of interest on it, dependent on current market forces. Bequeath a metre of your height for example and you will immediately shrink that much, but your height will be taken and invested responsibly by the Bureau, loaned to those in need of extra inches, such as a basketball player. In return, your investment will be rewarded with 3% interest, or 3cm, per year.

Attributes can be deposited, withdrawn or traded at any time, either in-branch, through one of any of thousands of ATM (Automated Transformation Machines) located around the country, or through their new mobile app.

As well as banking, the bureau offers an array of other services, such as life insurance.
