I live in
[a box]
careful not to be too
LOUD or PROUD
yet even being
(quiet) and (timid)
does not stop
the walls of [the box]
from pressing in and
me.
I have lived in [a box]
from the -moment- I
came into this world
due to "unfortunate" circumstances.
How do you escape?
from that which: defines you

I am a caged bird
in [this box]
forced to sing
*daintily* for cats
who only see me as
a =meal=
and not an
independent, free
spirit!

and yet
no one understands?
why it
INFURIATES me
when I hear said
"No one is forced
to live [[in boxes]]"
Even from those
who live [[in boxes]]
as well.

I want to
POUND h()o()l()e()s
into [this box]
and live
LOUD and PROUD
and unafraid of
and >cats<
but I can't break free
of [this box] until
EVERY.
SINGLE.
[box]
IS-
\_DESTROYED_/
