Instead of worrying, enjoy the ride.
State of Mind

How ends this flight through hazy sky
on wings of steel above so high?
I sit and ponder in my seat
and watch as pillow clouds fly by.

I will distraction as I eat
and drink and watch and hear the bleat
of music blasting through my ears.
I shift and wiggle, stretch my feet.

The Wrights and Lindbergh, pioneers,
they brought me here with all my fears.
But, then, I look at sky so blue,
and trepidation disappears.

I understand now what they knew,
the urge to fly up high and through,
the clouds, the peace, the dream come true.
I calm my heart, enjoy the view.
