Spring

When all is gone, and all hope fades,
When life seems to waste away,
A blade of grass emerged at last
Marking the start of a new day.

A stark contrast of green and white.
A spark of life puts up a fight.
The start of life beneath the sky
That's giving out a brighter light.

Out with the old, in with the new,
It's a new beginning for you.
The pale grey is washed away
Replaced by forget-me-not blue.
