Soaring sounds swirling then
shimmering back to earth
in myriads of sparkling shivers.

Intricate delicacy of vocal symphony
where images are spun
in memory and symbolism.

Fragments envisioned,
able to be sinuously touched
or tasted with the mind’s tongue.

Heartstrings plucked to
form verbal music that only
you and the gods can fathom.

Where texture oozes through wiggling toes,
as we wend through words
written: destinations unfurl.

Formulating tears and smiles
torn from metaphors and similes:
ah, but this, this is a poem.
