Inspired by Poe's: The Raven
A little mouse stated in my ear, “Whisper, whisper, lets go whisper in there”
I followed the delicate rodent throughout my house, leaning on my cane that I was dependent on
As we traversed about, he nibbled on a piece of cheese that I had left about,
This mouse had no qualms with helping himself, such a despicable mouse; by any other name he’d be called a louse
As we carried on with our travels through the house, this annoying mouse would state, “Whisper, whisper, lets go whisper there”
But where I wondered, where did this wayward mouse wish to whisper
Such questions were not to be answered for all the mouse would say, “Whisper, whisper, lets go whisper there”
“Where in hell’s fire are you taking me?” I asked finally
“Whisper, whisper, lets go whisper there”
Every inch of my soul now burned, a fierce flame engulfed my hopeless heart,
“I won’t follow a fool about, without reason, all I have is doubt” my voice rang as I paused in the hall, “Where are we to whisper or… no, no! I shan’t whisper, I shan’t whisper at all”

The mouse turned and pointed with his paw, “Whisper, whisper, lets go whisper there”

There in lies a room, one that I have not yet seen before, hidden by an unfamiliar door.
What is this room, I began to wonder, but my anger wouldn’t let me ponder
My agitation, my infuriation overwhelmed my curiosity as I smited the bastard mouse with my cane made of ebony
The poor mouse now lay, imbedded in the floor, his hurt face relinquishing painful tears, tearing into my soul
“I am sorry little one, but your time has come to its end”
I knelt next to him, a sick smile I did bear,
And then I whispered into his ear, “Whisper, whisper, now we will whisper here”
