Why does the boy want to be a politician?
The inspiration.

Mr. Ronald wearing his best smile waves and walk along the community of poor people with the cameras and the reporters following him.

“Why did it have to be this of all the other places?” Mr. Ronald grumbles under his breath to the secretary, “You know I don’t like stepping on dirty places.”
“Sorry Sir, but this was the best place to get the media’s attention for our campaign” The secretary speaks, “Please smile sir, we are being aired right now.”

As he passes by the people, a small boy tugs his trousers from behind, if it wasn’t for the media the kid would have seen the worst of Mr. Ronald. He turns around to the kid who looks like he five or six years old, holding a lollipop in one hand and the other hand holding his mother.

The mother trying rather unsuccessfully to hush his son gives an awkward smile to Mr. Ronald.

Mr. Ronald smiles leaning toward the boy, “Hello there little fella’”
The boy says nothing; rather he is examining Mr. Ronald intensely with the candy still in his mouth. It makes Mr. Ronald uneasy for a few second when the boy finally speaks.

“When I grow up, I want to be like you.”

That brings a huge grin on Mr. Ronald and just like any other politician; he grabs this moment as a perfect opportunity to promote his campaign and his name. So, instead of shutting up and thanking the boy, he straightens his shoulder, makes his tie, still being aware of the media and bringing a real smile on his face this time asks, “Why do you want to be like me, son?”

“ Hm, well you are always smiling, where as my dad always have a long face after he comes back from work” the boy gives his honest answer drawing the cameras and the reporters closer on hearing the boy’s interesting statement.
“And I always see your posters everywhere I go, I don’t know what the words under your pictures read but I would like to get my pictures like that, on the walls everywhere. My elder brothers say you drive expensive cars each time with different beautiful women, who are a lot younger than you; he said it would be cool to have a life like that. So, I think it would be nice to be you. And finally I think-”

The mother seeing Mr. Ronald’s horror face pulls the boy away and covers his mouth before he can speak any longer. But the boy is importunate, he loses the hold of his mother and shouts, “If I am ever bald, I am going to wear a wig like you!”
The mother straight away drags the boy out of everybody’s sight running their way towards the house. The crowd burst out into a huge roar of non-stop laughter including the media where Mr. Ronald stood alone in the crowd, unable to move with sweats running down from his temples.

“Sir?” The secretary calls with a worried look on her face and handing Mr. Ronald the phone. “Madam would like to have a word with you this instant.” Busted.
