This is a poem about the thoughts and feelings of someone in a deep depression.
Is There Light Out There?

Heart-crushing agony.
Feelings of hopelessness and doubt:
Like being in a hole so deep,
Not a forgiving light to be seen.

Catatonic, so let there be sleep;
As sleep is a blessing...
Or is it?
Does sleep not foster an even deeper darkness?

Stumbling backwards, falling,
Falling into the deep hole of anguish.
Suffocating thoughts of anger building, building!
Not in control of one's senses.

Frustration turns to sadness;
then sadness to self-doubt.
Where is the light?
Has it burned out?
