A guy waits in line for his new iPhone and gets a troublesome call.
It's London, it's raining and I’m standing in line to get the new iPhone 5s. There are so many immigrants around me I feel like I might be in India. My trusty old iPhone 4S rings.

“You will soon be replaced my old companion.” I say smiling at my inside joke, that will surely be understood here.

The lady in front of me turns around smiling at my comment. She is a breath taking London beauty, right out of some James Bond movie. Straight hair with big bright eyes. I try to think of something even more clever to say, to get her to turn around again, but first I answer my ringing phone. I put it on speaker of course, like I always do to avoid radiation.

“Hello?”

“You are the lowest piece of scum ever to be born!” My just released X girlfriend Celia booms out at me.

I try to press the speaker button again to mute her, but the phone has gone dark, and the dampness from the rain doesn’t let me work it. The beauty in-front looks back at me crossing her eyebrows. Which could mean one of many things, all of which are bad.

“You have the wrong number.”

“What do you mean I have the wrong number, I pressed your number Guy Zimmerman, you disgusting creep.”

“Please Celia, i’m in line here, can we talk later?” I plead, but know very well this won’t be over so quickly.

“I know you won’t call me later. You never call! I’m crying all day and the only thing you care about are your stupid gadgets.” I roll my eyes, this is going to be long... “The girl that will end up with you, will be miserable for the rest of her life. I hate you!”

An old Indian guy next to me pats me on the shoulder, giving me a fatherly look of understanding what I'm going through. The beauty in-front turns towards me, she actually leans towards the phone in my hand.

“Guy, are you coming?” She says in her most sexy voice, and adds a heart stopping little laugh at the end.

“Who is that?” Celia sounds like she is about to burst. “You are with another woman? You broke up with me yesterday! Oh my God! You cheated on me! You creep!” She cries on the phone, and she’s really going all out wailing and spitting. I look around and notice everybody on line is silently looking at me. The beauty in front has reached the entrance. She grabs my arm pulling me by her side.

“He’s with me.” We enter the iStore together smiling at each other.
