The Trail

He follows the trail
Of the wind in my hair
Flowing gently in the breeze

Though far away
And just out of reach
I walk amongst the trees

Across the ocean
And over the plains
The tendrils wave and call

Though the path is winding
And blocked at times
The journey is worth it all

He'll come upon me
Find my head in the clouds
My heart upon my sleeve

In the silvery light
Of a warm autumn night
A vow never to leave
