Poem: The Darkness. ( I really love this poem. I wrote it at an especially troubling time, and I was so excited when it got published!!!)
With the scars burning ever brighter,

I can see the nightmares in my dreams,

Yet can feel nothing when I wake.

Will this Darkness ever end?

I feel like it has been with me forever,

Yet I know it has not.

I have gotten engulfed in the Darkness.

Like a quicksand,

It pulls and tears at me,

Eating away at my skin.

I fear my ice heart might finally break,

But I know that is impossible.

I have been hurt too long and too much,

For anything to hurt me anymore.

I wish I had no heart,

For it is my only weakness.

It has hurt me again and again,

So much now I am impervious to pain.

Which I know now is the saddest thing of all.
