Who am I?

There's a hollowness in how I see.
         My life goes on all around,
seemingly passing me by.
         I don't know who I want to be.

I have a mute placed on my soul.
         My love pours out to others,
but what they reflect in reply:
         just a shadow from the mute's toll.

My thoughts are constantly depraved;
         "this is how I should be."
It constantly makes me sigh
         and worry how I might be saved.
