A poem about the acceptance of letting go of a love interest.

We were clever,
But we knew it couldn’t last forever,
And now you have to go,
And I have to watch you leave.

Our souls are knotted, can’t be untied
But we can clip the strings, and you’d still be beautiful.
Be free my love, accomplish those things,
Because after all, that's what true love really means.
