Angel Face

Her golden blond locks and sky blue eyes
Contradicted the harsh raspy voice
That was her own demise

Her words were serpent-tongued
Instead of being sweet as honey

A connection to her can’t be made
A sweet angel-faced girl
Was more like a devil and a shrew

Like a person possessed
In another’s body

Perhaps an exorcism would cure her ills
Returning the sweet voice to the sweet body
Exorcising the devil to whence it came

Then and only then will it be possible
To even begin speaking to one like her
