A foolish man would never know...
Affection I tried to show...

By writing poems for her in the snow.

In mirrors reflection I still see the old her.

Amidst a sea of rejection my confidence is a blur.

Her heart a metaphoric melting pot begging for a stir.

If only I could thaw things back to the way they were.

Living in fantasies the feeling is frightening.

Reality strikes my heart down like bolts of lightening.

A ton of bricks on the chest is ever daunting.

Hope for what could be? What good would that bring?

Coldest summer in recent memory.

Losing everything that meant something to me.

Down-right brokenhearted....

Ever since sincerity departed

Not sure what I truly wanted

And the heart asks why she didn't want him

The beginning needed more honesty.

I got trapped and couldn't break free

A foolish man with loving thoughts would never know.

That no love is gained from writing poems in the snow.
