Her last words to a friend before taking her own life
As I kick this thing
Legs of wood and lap of some
Comfy, torn-up cover
I just want you to stop me
Stop me from falling
Only a foot above the ground
But years before my time

And if you can’t do that
You can’t be my friend
But you can be my salesman
Sell them guilt, remorse, regret
Tell everyone about me
And about how my smile
Could have saved the world

But don’t forget to mention
The world didn’t save me
The world wasn’t there
Oh, but it was there all along
Here and there and everywhere
Everywhere but where I wanted it
A foot below my feet

As I kick this thing
