Too little, too late (Form: Rondeau)
Apology (Rondeau)

Because of pride, cruel words were said
filling my aching heart with dread.
I left without a single word;
not one was spoken, none were heard
as sorrow into silence fled.

We never know what lies ahead
or what path fate may have us tread.
I would not, could not be deterred
because of pride.

Angry words cannot be unsaid.
Deep remorse filled my heart and head
distracting me; my vision blurred
and the speeding car went unheard.
My apology now lies dead
because of pride.
