Is a heart full of love destined to be broken?
I stand before the blaze of a dragon gaze,
Holding charred brothers on my back,
I lift my paper shield high in defiance.

I can't prevail, my sword can't pierce the skin,
Still I stand, wavering beneath an aura of wrath,
Before an indestructible and unmerciful force.

To flee is to suffer a far worse fate,
The torment of knowing I abandoned them,
My dreams haunted by cold eyes of despair.

But my love, I vowed to her my heart and life,
She grabbed my hand and begged me to stay,
I pried her fingers loose as tears rained down.

This is the tragedy of a soul of true love.
