The Phantom

I am the phantom
I am the epitome of lost
My life ended sadly
And my soul is an albatross

On the sands of time
Footsteps is all I’ve left
Scars on the desert floor
From tears that I have wept

I haunt those gleeful souls
Who taunt me with their dreams
Of truth in lies and butterflies
And glue on broken seams

I wander all alone
I float through time and space
Spending time to forget
Things I can’t erase

A saddened phantom I’ve become
Who wanders day to day
Finally my kindred spirit
Learns to fade away
