A poem about youth and inexperience in the inner city
Begging for a sunny day to chase my clouds away
Rain... this downpour is enough to make an atheist pray

First, I must confess guilt and pain have gripped my chest
Ever since I swarmed out of that hornets' nest

Imaginary enemies push my back against a real wall
So I push back... fight 'em all
Drained, exhausted I collapse and fall
Mirage occurred
Vivid visions of delusions that never were

Muffled under the iron freight wheels screeching
Two shots, "POP","POP", left my friend and me speechless
life signs leavin', barely breathin', chest and leg leakin'

Darted from the shadows like a hasty sunrise
Today will not be the day of my demise
I left quick... it wasn't right to slowly noose my neck
Sole survivor, solo trip, not two, but one flew over this cuckoo's nest
