A poem I wrote about a girl who makes the mistake of committing suicide.

Fly Away

I stare at the ground as I cry,
telling myself I don't want to die.
I just want to end the pain,
to spread my wings and fly away.

I press the blade down against my skin,
thinking I'll be dead in a min.
The knife will drain my pain away,
If only it didn't have to be this way.

They told me no,
now the blood starts to flow.
Before they had begged me to stay,
But I just couldn't go on this way.

I watch my blood drip to the floor,
knowing soon i will be no more.
Finally I've done it,
I've saved myself today.

I see the blood pool,
as I fill with regret.
I wonder why am I such a fool?
As I take my last breath.

My body relaxes,
soon I collapse.
I exhale and close my eyes,
now I am free, I can fly away.
