Chapter two in a series of side-splitting, tear-jerking, feel-good events
Diary Of A God-Fearing Woman
Ella Rowe thinks her life is dull, dismal, and boring. She has high hopes that God will someday have a plan for her life that includes adventure, excitement, and maybe even a handsome stranger. Little does she know that she's about to find out that God has a sense of humor...

Chapter Two
Dear Diary,
I was right. Shortly after popping that birthday cake in the oven last night, Grandma Rachael called. Her first question? "Have you met a man yet?" If there is another lady in this world who is more blunt and straight forward than her, I would LOVE to meet her.

I thought it odd that she was calling so late, it already being about 10 when I started working on the cake, and as it turns out, her arthritis has flaired back up. Yes, I had to hear all about that, as well as "Doodles" and "Carl", her two cats, and about how her neighbor had taken up jogging. By the time I got off the phone with her, the cake was finished baking and was ready for decoration.

Anyway, long story short, Grandma is a nosey old lady who almost made me burn a cake. But I do love her very much. Since she moved out so far in the state, I don't see her nearly as much as I would like...

So as for today, we are a bit slow. It's raining outside, we're done baking for the morning (assuming we don't have a ton of orders and I doubt we will because of the rain) and I've just sent Dess out to pick up lunch. It's times like this, when the shop is all quiet and I'm all alone, that I can really feel God's peace all around. I know that I'm so blessed to have all that I do; the bakery, my parents, Grandma Rachael, my friends, my apartment upstairs. God is good. I just wish He would send me a man who loved Him like I do. And yes, I know that sounds whiney. But it's a very boring life when they only male who wants to hang around besides my dad is a cat who eats garbage. One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3 and 5, which says "In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." I know without a doubt this is true, so I guess I will just wait my turn...

I see the man from the hardware shop coming across the street! Got to go!
