South Korea Preps For North Korea Test

South Korea's leader Lee Myung-Bak has urged the South Korean officials to be well prepared for a third nuclear test by North Korea. Reports are showing that South Korea believes the third nuclear test will take place before Lunar New Year begins on February 10th.

The calls and statements came after a meeting with the South Korean president and his top security advisors. During the meeting his security advisors passed him intel which could indicate that North Korea is planning for their third nuclear test.

Satellite images have shown unusually busy activity at North Korea's nuclear test facility Punggye-ri. North Korea has apparently covered up an entrance at their facility. Which South Korea says is an apparent attempt to block satellite monitoring.

North Korea has built two lookout towers also equipped with security camera's which South Korea says was installed to monitor the South Korean military in the demilitarized zone that divides the two countries.

Seoul's chief nuclear envoy Ling Sung-Nam left for Beijing on Sunday to meet his Chinese colleague in a last minute diplomatic attempt to convince Pyongyang to not carry out the third nuclear test.

These last few weeks Pyongyang has issued many threats against the United Nations and the United States over sanctions imposed for a long range rocket launch in December 2012. North Korea leader Kim Jung-Un has pledged "the toughest retaliation" if the sanctions are not lifted.

North Korea has also slammed the upcoming joint naval drill between South Korea and the United States. North Korea said these drills are military exercises aimed at threatening their country. Also a nuclear powered submarine and other warships are expected to take part.
