Winner!A-Z Poetic Contest Entry: Due 01/19/13 - "Why do I feel this way?" in Goethe Stanza |
Don't want to care, I want to stop, A deep connection we do not share. Desires and emotions whirl and pop, Inside my head, dare I say my heart? Possibilities fill me with dread, flirtation is a deadly art. It can't be that serious, It's as if I'm already connected; I must be delirious, picturing us wedded. It can not be helped, I am but a girl, feminine emotions inside me whelped, logic and reason continually swirl. Courageous declarations unwittingly hurled; that is, if I had the temerity to partake in such honesty unfurled. Instead I hang on your words with much alacrity; internally punching myself, I feel like such a buffoon! These ups and downs can't be good for my health, If only you really had hung the moon, then I would be justified, if when you smiled I swooned. As it stands I'm by your side, our business friendship continually groomed. On my fragile attachment, do not fret; I am not ready for the truth to be un-pent, no, not yet.
