Trying to "become one" while lost in my journal.
You Can’t Read in a Dream

Two halves of the same brain.
Such complicated halves;
we have to admire them.

But they won't work, can't work
simultaneously.
They must function apart.

One sleeps while the other works,
and the other requires
you to be sleeping soundly.

Two halves of the same brain--
never touching, never
laughing in cameraderie.

Two halves of the same brain--
simultaneously
isn't in their DNA.

Bur they can think, must think
contemplatively.
They both require thought.

One can sleep while the other dreams,
But both require us
To be thinking soundly.

Two halves of the same brain--
contemplatively
engaged in their unique way.

I tried to use them both once,
almost killed me, and those
who meditated with me.

They were dreaming while
I was reading, not just the runes,
but the looks on their faces.

Two halves of the same brain--
never touching, never
reading in the same dream.

Two halves of the same brain--
never touching, never
dreaming in the same vein.

Two halves of the same brain—
blown away by the wind,
now dust in the dunes.
