Runaway Runs Back Home

  While on a scrap metal run I had already been through the yellow light district and crossed over into the green light district where scrap metal had been plentiful in both
districts. Then I made a wrong turn and "presto" I was in the red light district.
  Almost immediately I was propositioned by a runaway teen. I told her thanks but no thanks that is not what the Lord would have me to do. Her name was Maureen and went on to inform me she was only sixteen. She had had a falling out with her parents
about her promiscuity, told them to talk to the hand, packed a suitcase and stormed out of the house only to head to the red light district so she would not starve.
  Without warning she said "who is this Lord of yours?, and how can I know him?"
I told her my Lord is Gods' only begotten son who died for the sins of the world. He was crucified on the cross at a God-forsaken place called Golgatha.
  The way you get to know him is ask him into your heart then ask him to forvive you of your sins because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that
includes me. With those two steps you are saved. Then you need to follow up with
believers' baptism. Pretty simple , huh.
  Think of a big deep gorge and God is on one side Jesus is on the other. Jesus is the bridge that makes it possible to get to God the Father. When you have Jesus you also have God.
  Jesus accepts you just as you are also. That beauty mark you have, that tattoo on
your lower back I could not help but notice, and your promiscuious ways. In summary,
when you come to him you come just as you are then you are a work in progress so
to speak.
  Ok, "Mr. Know It All", "I've heard the term diciple used in religious circles: what in the
world is that?" A diciple is a born-again Christian who lives for the Lord, puts him first
in everything he or she does and strives to be more like Jesus everyday. Once saved
you can start being a diciple immediately. Other ways of dicipleship are treating your
neighbor or even a complete stranger like you would want to be treated yourself. Witnessing and reading the Bible are two more.
  She once again surprised me when when she asked if I would pray with her as she
was ready to be saved. I said, "sure I will be glad to". She said, after we pray I am
going to run back home not walk but run. As she put distance between us I uttered to
myself "the Lord is already at work in her life."
