A weird poem about going to venus... |
-Heading For Venus- by Keaton Foster I am just a guy A man with a weird plan Implementation will take place From my mind to my hands A once blank page will Spell out all that I intend A distance that must be reached At any price I am willing to concede Time and space mean nothing Bound only by imagination Conventionality laid to waste I am heading for Venus Not because I want to get there But because I want to get away Far from all that has been made Far away from my human shape Out into the ether Out into the nether reaches of all That humans are comfortable with That is where I wish to go I have no spaceship No way to break earth’s gravity But rather an ability to imagine Things and experiences that I have Never had or could hope to Venus is the second planet from the sun Named for love and beauty Not ugly like the earth Not a travesty of inequality Or a ridiculous hypocrisy But rather an expansive terrestrial world That has hidden what is below its clouds From those with prying eyes Venus is a place where I could be alone A place where my imagination could take hold I could shape the sea, mold the land And place the forest where I wish I could fill it full of wild creatures Uninhibited beings free to live as they wish I could build up every mountain Or just as quick tear them all down No one, nothing could tell what to do It would be up to me My imagination would scream And only I would hear it Only I would know what is being said And what is being expressed I am heading for Venus Because I need to go to a place That I alone can be free To do what my mind Has the power to conceive… Heading For Venus Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
