Abandoned

  The once-loved father is gone, never to return.

  Her heart is broken, battered, and badly burned.

  The rain of tragedy has turned her to rust.

  Quite weak now, she's empty of any trust.



  In secret, she asks the question, "Why did you leave me?"

  She is now a ghost of a girl, but hides it so no one will see.

  Almost always alone, she has no company but the silent moon.

  She suspects she'll be abandoned once again and quite soon.
