This story is about a young boy who is troubled by a mean boy at his school. |
“Good morning son how did you sleep?” says Dad as he sips from his morning coffee. “Not too good I still had nightmares, “I say as I walk down the steps slowly. “Well that’s not good what were they about this time?” Dad says looking concerned. “Same as always it starts out my typical day, and then when I get to school I see Andre. Then out of nowhere he starts running after me but I wake up before he throws the first punch,” I say as I act out what happened. “They should really do something about him he is getting a little out of hand,” Dad says while he works on his computer. “I know but no one’s going to turn him in and if I fight back I might get suspended.” “Well we better hurry or you’ll be late who knows maybe today will be better.” Dad says while putting his coat on. “Seems as though he hasn’t heard a word I said” I say while grabbing my book bag. “Have a good day at school “my dad calls out. I just turn back and give him a quick little smile. Well here I am again I tell myself just going to be another fun filled day at McClatchy Middle School. Which I knew was a total lie because I have sixth period every day which means I have to see Andre no matter what. Things were going through my mind of all the things he has previously done and he has never done or said the same thing twice. So I can only imagine what he has in store for me today. Fifth period has just ended, now I’m on my way to sixth yet to my surprise when I walk into class Andre isn’t there. Such joy fills me that even though I’m short and fat I could have sworn I jumped four feet in the air. Later on during the class I noticed with Andre gone I was able to get so much more work done and today .I was actually able to finish my test on time instead of having to stay after from Andre annoying me the whole time. The only time I ever felt safe in that class is when we did partner work because then I could get as far away from Andre as possible. Also when we did partner work I had the opportunity to work with my best friend Marcus. When Marcus and I were younger we had done everything together. We would go sledding when it was cold, biking when it was warm and a lot of times we went on vacation with one another. One other thing we did that brought us to trust each other a lot is when one was being bullied the other one would stand up to Andre. Even though it didn’t stop him at least we would join in on being bullied and lessen the pain for the other. My bus ride home was a lot smoother to because Andre wasn’t there to push me against the window and now I can actually see. So now I notice a lot of things as the bus driver drives past houses. I realize that not only there’s an amazing view but I realize that I knew most of the places because when I was younger Marcus and I would go exploring. So I knew my town better than I thought. Another thing I realized is this bus is not the cleanest the seats are ripped the windows drawn on and the emergency handles are broken off. Finally home after a long day of school I walk through the door like always saying “I’m home” making sure to make it extra loud and long. “Hello honey how was your day” said mom from in the living room. “It was the best day of school yet” I tell her. “Did they finally transfer that Andre kid?”She asks happily. “No I tell her but he wasn’t there today for the first time since elementary school” I say excitingly. “That’s great so does anyone know what happened?” She asks sounding concerned. “I didn’t really ask because I was too excited he was gone.” “Now Chris we raised you better than that,” She says while scolding me. “I’m sorry mom but when I big distractions gone don’t you get excited,” I say sadly. The second person or I shouldn’t say person the second to say hello to me is my loyal dog chip. We named him chip because he has all dark brow fur and he is a Shih Tzu so he’s small and looks like a chocolate chip. Also he got his name from the way he barks it always sounds like he’s saying “chip chip” almost as high pitched as a bird. “The next day” “Morning Dad, morning Mom”, I say as I walk down the steps still half asleep. Yet to my surprise no one is here. I walk around the house searching for everyone. Well I have checked the attic, their rooms, and the basement were could they be. I call for chip and again gone .So the first thing I do is I call my dad. Yet for some reason it goes straight to voice mail. After that I call my mom and she left her phone on the kitchen table again. After I got ready and ate breakfast I was wondering how I am going to get to school. I look out the window and see the bus yet I couldn’t remember ever seeing a bus route near my house. So I run out side and get on the bus and to my surprise there was Andre staring right at me scolding me. As much as I wanted just to turn around and run off the bus back to the safety of my home I knew that if I skipped school I would be dead. And I thought to myself what’s worse a beating from Andre or a beating from dad. So I hurried to get a seat as far away from Andre as I could. Every now and again I would look back at Andre to see if he was still scolding me, and to no surprise he still was. Finally at school the bus ride felt like it was hours long even though it was only for a short few minutes. I was so happy that I wasn’t going to see him for another six periods. It’s about 12:30 and it’s time to go to sixth period. Today was pretty good I think I got a B+ on my math test. Also at gym I didn’t need my inhaler for once. Yet I know that this amazing streak is going to end as soon as a walk through the door. Now at my sixth period class I just walked through the door to see Andre just sitting there acting normal. So I slowly walk over to my chair and slowly sit down. As I sit I see Andre look back at me and start bursting out laughing. I look at Andre rather confused but when I sat down I felt a sharp pain. I try just to ignore it but by the way Andre was laughing I knew he had to have something to do with it. After class I’m in such pain my eyes start watering and I run to the bathroom as fast as I can. I look in the mirror to see a metal tack stuck in my shorts. I try to pull it out but it was no use there was no way I was going to get it out. So for the rest of the day I deal with the pain. The ride home was especially terrible because I had to take the bus and each bump pushed the tack further and further in. Finally I get home with tears in my eyes I run to the door and call for mom. She runs down the steps saying “what’s wrong what’s wrong.” I tell her what all happened and she tells me to lie down and she will try and get it out. She finally gets it out but it keeps bleeding really badly so she runs me to the hospital as fast as she can. We arrive at the hospital at about two forty-five. My mom takes me straight to the emergency room. The whole time I’m there I keep thinking “is it really that bad?” The doctor just took me back and told my mom it’s going to need stitches. After the doctor is done he tells me I got four stitches and I’m going to have to use this air bag ring around them so I do not sit directly on it. So my mom decided since I’ve been caused so much distress from my school she’s just going to send me to a new school. My dad just got a promotion so we will be moving to Ohio anyways. So now I will never again be harmed by Andre ever again. It’s too bad that I’m going to have to leave Marcus though but it’s ok because ill come back every couple of years to meet up with him.
