It was the rise of the undead, and many offed themselves before they had a chance to live.
         Unrealistic, fake, suffering, horrendous...

All of these words circled in the dusty air. Bombs exploded nearby, trees

swayed as they watched their close relatives in flames. Helicopters flew by,

in mid-air, leaving to flip and do another bomb drop. The world was ending it

seemed, the eyes of many watched in horror as family members didn't make

it. Instead, they were left to explode or be eaten by these things. What were

these things? They had flesh unsettling against their features. They had a thirst

for the human body, the organs, and the blood. What was this? What had the

world done to deserve such terrible things?

The eyes of one, piercing blue. Cold and scented with fear and anguish.

Her heart wrenched and torn from what she was experiencing. Suddenly,

it all fades away, and her eyes are closed. The distress has disappeared.

The scenery is gone, and all that can be seen is a young adult lying in bed.

Her eyes closed, the covers crumbled down to her feet. Sweat perspiring from

her forehead. The look of sadness, erased from her features. The sun slowly rises

through her window. Glaring in on her face, and waking her. Looking to each side

of her, she notices she is still in once piece. As well as the bed, and house is still

in one piece. "It was just a dream..." A slight whisper calls from her lips, as

she stands quickly and stretches. Her long fingers scratch the back of her head,

and she makes her way toward the door. Leaving one hand on it, she turns the

knobs and pulls it open. What is this? Widening with confusion, she sees things

stacked against her door. A dresser, shelves, suitcases. All pressed in front of her door.

Inching her way through it, she looks from side to side. Seeing nothing, but yet again.

Where were her grandparents? Why had they stacked things in front of her doorway?

Entering into the kitchen, she saw a plate of food. Three pieces of fried sausage patties,

and three...make that two and a half pancakes. Along with the syrup bottle sitting next to it.

They had time to pack things in front of her door, and make her breakfast. Yet, they had

no time to inform her of what was going on? Grabbing a piece of sausage, she bit into it.

The taste of grandma's cooking was always delicious. Glancing to her side, she noticed

the door window. Through it, she saw something suspicious. Walking over to it, her eyes

looked to her brother's house. His truck was parked weirdly in his drive way, with his mustang

parked crooked behind it. A small tiny car was behind it, and the doors were both open.

Placing her hand on the door knob, she began to turn it, but could not. Looking now, she noticed

the door was locked. Unlocking the knob, she tried to open it again. Now she knew that the other

lock was locked as well. Switching it to unlocked, she finally pulled the door open. Realizing

a pattern, she checked the screen door. It was also locked, and she unlocked it to step out onto

the cold blue, wooden steps. They had been painted a powder blue many years ago, and

were repainted if they seemed to chip off. Looking to the right side of her, the chairs sat normally.

The car was gone, but the truck was still here. Her pajama bottoms proved a slight warmth, but her tank top

shielded her from nothing. Stepping down the steps, she looked toward the road. The weird gut feeling of her dream

had surfaced, and she was curious. Not one car drove by, and the streets were empty.

Walking toward her brother's house, she was stepping cautiously. Until she made her way across the

slightly dew covered yard, and was to the second garage door. The first had been shut, this one was open.

She glanced in, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Making her way to the front door, she stopped as the

handle turned itself. Looking at the person who looked back at her, she was confused. "Jordy?"

She blinked, and he exited looking at her still. Following behind him was her brother. The look on his

face of slight relief, it made her curious. "What's going on? I woke up and my doorway was blocked with

all kinds of crap. Yet there was breakfast made, then all the doors were locked?"
The man nodded as

she spoke to him, and he seemed to know what was going on. Which she thought was good.

"Wis, go get your stuff together and take it to Jord's car. Okay? Don't ask questions yet, just get

everything as quickly as you can. We'll be over there soon to grab supplies. Thank god you're alive.

I can't believe they left you there..."
Wisteria was confused, but she knew her brother must have

good reasoning. Considering he had never cared about her being alive until now. Stepping past him,

she ran back over to the house. Spotting with her eyes something that looked like another person.

Stopping slightly, she noticed it wasn't a person. Her dream flashed into her head, and for a second

she was frozen solid. Before it could catch sight of her though, she had slipped back into the house

with it wandering in the opposite direction. What was going on? She still had no idea.

Stepping further into the house, she noticed that nothing had been touched yet. Wisteria made her

way further toward her room. It only took her a few minutes to cram all of her belongings back into

the suitcases she already had sitting there. In this time, she had already dressed and put her hair

up into a slightly loose bun. The door opened, and there was quick movement. Glancing down the hall,

she dragged her suitcases from the room. Her face showed sign of relief when she saw Jordy and her brother.

"Thank god, I thought it was something else. Are you going to explain everything too me once we le-"

Hands wrapped around her mouth. The scent of her brother's cologne hit her, and she stopped talking.

"They're out there, be quiet." Wisteria only nodded in response to his whispering. The two of them tried

to quietly gather supplies. She walked over to the door and closed the blinds, and did the same to all of the

windows she could see. Making her way into the sun room, she noticed the blinds were already closed.

Part of her was still confused and upset. Her grandparents had left her? That was pretty harsh. After several

seconds, the boys peaked out of the blinds they needed, before unlocking the door. The three of them inched outside.

Jordy threw his supplies in the back of her grandpa's truck. Then came back and grabbed the suitcases from Wisteria.

Doing the same with them, he headed to the garage. The door closed behind them, and Wisteria turned to look at her brother.

Seeming to understand her thoughts, he held up the keys and then slid them in his pocket. The doors were locked then, good.

Maybe they could come back to this place some day?

After a few minutes, Wisteria had been standing against the wall. Blocking herself from anything that might see her.

Jordy and her brother reappeared and attached the camper onto the back of her grandpa's truck. She assumed

it was too hide the supplies they had taken. "We've already hit about five houses, took all the old people's medicine and

stuff. Most of the houses were empty."
Jordy proclaimed to Wisteria, as if he could almost read her mind as well.

"Zain, you and Wisteria can take the truck. I'll take my car." Zain nodded to Jordy, and jerked his head to the left

giving signal for Wisteria to get in the truck. Without a second thought, she did so and slipped into the passenger seat

of the truck. Here eyes never left her brother until he was in the vehicle, and starting it up. In that moment, she turned

and waited for Jordy to start his car, and back out onto the road. It only took a few minutes for Zain to back

out and pull up behind him. Jordy stuck his hand out the window, and gave a thumbs up before taking off. Zain followed

closely behind him, and Wisteria looked around at the houses she had a feeling she would never see again.
