Escape from Hong Kong

A group of British servicemen and european civilians are fleeing from the Japanese forces advancing quicking towards Hong Kong in December 1941. They board a tramp steamer in their attempt to get to Hong Kong only to learn enroute that Hong Kong has fallen to the enemy. Where will they go and how will they survive?

Characters are Chief Petty Officer Robert Hamilton, Lt(N) Philip Marlowe, Ship captain Tomas Gomez, his daughter Thersea Gomez who is love with and sleeping with CPO Hamilton, Sgt Roy Anderson of the queens fusilliers with four of his men, Missionary Edwin Hawes, Elizabeth Hawes daught of Edwin Hawes.

Hamilton is in China recuperating from wounds both physical and emotional suffered at narvik norway in 1940 when his ship HMS Hunter was sunk. He is thrust into a position of command with his group of fellow escappees and must combat both the enemy and his own mind as he leads while trying to deal with the romance triangle that he develops with the two women. the story takes us thru failure and then a small victory to what seems to be a final disaster. or is it.
