For our troops

I walk with you, but my path is different from yours. You sleep peacefully while I fight for the lives of others. You put your worries in my strong, capable hands. Your heavy burdens are carried on my trusting back. You may not see me, but I see you no matter where I am. I serve as your shield, your protection against harm. I may not seem strong, but my heart provides any form of strength I need. When you lose your home from a natural disturbance I am there to provide support. You can lay your head upon my wing and feel safe within my embrace. I fight for your freedom; I will not allow anyone to hinder you. Hope that there will never be a time where you require my aid, but take relief that I will never ever let you down. The strongest are not the ones who are served, but the ones who serve. We are your shield and sword, your protection and your assurance. Politicians and peace misunderstandings may discourage your faith about us, but we will never stop caring about you. We are the army, navy and air force. We are the military and we deliberately put our lives on the line for you. Take heart that we love you and will put our lives down for you. I am one solider, but together we are many. Support the troops because they support you. Respect those who are willing to give their lives for your protection
