WHY EXPECT THE IMPOSSIBLE?


Why expect the impossible?
Why dream that sun is dark?
Why argue whether in winter,
We can hear the sweet lark?


Why doubt whether the lover has
Truly heard the love call?
It’s possible that the land was
Barren where seed did fall.

Echoes can come only when the
Sound falls on an object.
The chances of returning from
Empty space are suspect.

When you address a heart that is
Of feelings so empty,
The chances of a heartbreak are
In fact rather plenty.
