part 3, part 2 is long walk home. sorry for errors i write late at night and don't pick up
April 5 2022
Location outside North Carolina
Time 10 in the morning, maybe

Man the saying “takes a licking a keeps on ticking” is total bullshit this stupid watch is dying like just everything around me. I hope there’s a mall or something I can get a battery and a new watch, of course that is if every store hasn’t been rat fucked within an inch of its life when I get there. There’s a long road ahead of me I’m going to try to make it to at least to a road side gas station or motel. Gas station is better back rooms, bullet proof glass and 1 way in and 2 ways out it’s really easy to defend. I better get going. I hope I find a shower or a bus full of hot playboy models that aren’t dead or trying to rob and kill me.

Time 230
Fucking A jackpot a LAV and a important looking one at problem is both hatches and back door are locked. I really wish I had a blow torch. There’s only one way I’m getting in there that’s c4 I got 1 left and I don’t even know if the detonator still works. I guess I could give it a shot and try not to blow off my arms.
It worked I’m better at this then I thought. I was right it was a scientist convoy lots of good stuff in here, guns, ammo, important looking science stuff unfortunately I’m not a bull so I can’t take it all. It’s like Christmas morning but you’re only allowed to keep three gifts out of like 50. I decided to replace my M4A1 with an ACR (it’s more accurate and the ACR got a long range scope on it). So I replaced my ammo and clips with compatible ones. I also found one of the most useful things to date; a radiation counter. I’m going to need it when I start heading further north. I’m debating on weather or not to stay here tonight it’s safe and discreet but iv only walked like 2 hours and the more I wait the worse its going to get. It’s very cold for this time of year so I’m thinking there’s fallout and the winter is setting in. I have a month at best if I don’t get out within that time frame in done, I’m a dead man and that’s one thing I’m not going to be. Not until I find out whether or not there’s actually hope for us all and if there isn’t I don’t know what I’m going to do, more then likely put a bullet in my skull.

Time night 1145
I decided to keep going. I’m hiding in the back of a overturned delivery truck it’s not as tucked away as the LAV but still good. I’m getting a bit low on food but there’s a small town about 25 km up the road. Looks like I’m going shopping tomorrow. It’s a small town from what it looks like on the map. Don’t think its former inhabitants are like the ones of the big city well I’m gonna to find out tomorrow whether they are or not. Also have this suspicion someone is following me it’s a lone person, if it was a group they would have fucked me up by now. I don’t know who it is, then again it could be just me my mind is starting to play tricks on me. I’m hearing gunshots where there are none etc. but never the less I’m going to set a trap tonight just like a mouse and cheese I’ll put my pack outside and see who crawls out. Well wish me luck.
