When my bike got broke,
    Or a story needed told.
You made time.

When the homework was too much,
    Or I just needed a hug.
You made time.

To throw a ball around,
    Or to find out what made that sound.
You made time.

Whether it was the birds & the bees,
    Or just a talk about the breeze.
You made time.

There was no cats in the cradle
    Or a silver spoon.
I want to be like you Dad!     

There was no “we’ll do it later son”
    Or “we’ll get together then”.
I want to be like you Dad!

There was always time for “Li’l Boy Blue”
    Or “The Man in the Moon”.
I want to be like you Dad!
Because, you always made time.
