She represents Strength, Struggle, Strong, Snuggles and the best that is in us.
Miss Malinda is what I call her
Born without vital connections inside of her
She went under the knife the day she was born
But God made her so very very strong

Hospital bound for days and days at a time
Miss Malinda never really cries out or frown
She takes each day in her stride
Making me feel so foolish when I break down and cry

Looking at her you would never know
The disease within that plagues her so
Miss Malinda has the strength to never let it show
How broken inside she is from her head to her toe

Although her lungs are often filled with phlegm
She fights the good fight without a whim
From day to day she runs and plays
Miss Malinda seems to say come what may

I marvel at her from day-to-day as she rips, runs, and plays
To live so vibrantly with such strength and force
With lots to say as she lives and breath each day
Miss Malinda is my example of faith as often seen in the young

Many have said that she was given the right name
Symbolizing strength and determination like me
I wonder where they got that from for I’m very gentle you see
Miss Malinda and I are soul mates with much in common

Some say that the name Malinda means black, dark or serpent
Others say that Malinda means gentle and sweet as honey
I say that the name Miss Malinda is superb and filled with ideals
Maybe that is why Miss Malinda have so much appeal

Thank you Miss Malinda for coming and entering my life
It could have been by chance or a simple roll of the dice
But because you have come our family will survive
Miss Malinda, you are a baby truly made from sugar and spice
