I haven't been able to sleep so writing down things that pop into my head
The moon is surrounded by a blanket of stars
The wind carries the scent of the evening blooms
The coyotes add their songs
The Night can be a beautiful thing.

Tender touch, warm embrace
Laughing eyes, gentle words
Respect, longing, compassion
Wondering "what if"
Wishing and wanting. Knowing one day, one day

As the sun lowers in the sky, its reflection dances across the lake like diamonds.
The gentle sound of the wind moving the trees is only matched by the waves crashing into the dock.
The flames in the firepit lick at the stars in the blackening sky.
Peace.

I lay in bed at night, and memories of you flood my brain,
Like those of your gentle touch, and the soft caress of your lips.
The way you looked into my eyes, reassuring yet wanting.
Our bodies shivering as pleasure was shared.
But most of all, I remember the silent words of love and respect.
Sweet dreams as I surrender to the night.

She sits alone on the deck. She stares at the lake before her admiring the moon's
reflection on the water. After engraining the image in her mind she closes her eyes
and listens to the loons. He comes up behind her wrapping his arms around her waist. He places his head on her shoulder which allows her to inhale his scent. They sit together enjoying the moment.
