Lost Balloon
I lost my birthday balloon today.
The string slipped from my hand, and it floated away.
It went high in the sky.
And I think I heard it say “Good-bye!”
Now where did it go?
I really liked it so.
Did it sail over my school?
Did it drift above the park’s swimming pool?
Or did it just float all day with the birds?
Will it get tired when nothing exciting occurs?
Or will it glide down and get stuck in another little boy’s tree?
I really want to know, but I guess that like a butterfly, it just wanted to be free!
