Supreme Tribunal of the Upper Saggitarian Confederation writes their opinion on a case.
Miguel Richardson, an independent film director and actor, domiciled on Earth, a member world of the Upper Saggitarian Confederation marries Bar-ul; T'uq (he calls her Barbara). Motivated partially by lust and greed, Richardson originally sees Barbara's exotic beauty as a big Hollywood meal ticket. On the planet Barbara comes from she is deemed the property of the T'uq corporation, a company incorporated on the member world Kah-m; R'et, where her genetic profile was sequenced and then matriculated, at a cost equivalent to  5 million Earth Dollars, in a gestational factory.

In the manner roughly equivalent to an epistolary novel, this piece will be written in a manner imitating a Supreme Court opinion. As an appendix to the opinion will be the legal briefs of the parties and amici curiae, the certified record, lower court decisions, and Articles of Confederation of the Upper Sagittarian Worlds (not "planets" because some member-states inhabit moons or artificially constructed orbiting habitats (ACOHs). Knowledge of legal writing is helpful but not absolutely necessary, as most good writers can pick up a "style" of writing the way some gifted musicians can pick up a tune by hearing someone hum a few bars.
