The Paranormals: A Haunting House (Episode #101) By: Roderick Sloan Teaser FADE IN Int. Paranormals’ kitchen night Trooper a Belgium traverne is fast asleep on his pillow lying on his back with his tongue sticking out. SFX: (Snoring) CUT TO CLOSE UP ON CEILING- A ghostly white shape starts to materialize through the ceiling. WIDE ON Trooper and Ghostly White Shape in front of him- Trooper lays snoring away until he opens one eye and sees the form in front of him. EXT. Paranormal house night Trooper lets out a howl of fright at the sight of the figure in front of him. TROOPER Hoooooooowwwwwwllllll. FADE OUT END TEASER ACT ONE FADE IN- INT. Paranormal kitchen night KEN PARANORMAL an average looking man and head of the Paranormal house hold walks in to the kitchen and switches the light on followed by his wife TINA who like her husband is an average looking woman. Their sixteen year old son JASON walks in followed by his fourteen year old sister TRACEY and their nine year old brother BRYAN who wears large glasses that look too big for his face and is followed by his pet pig OINKS. All are in nighttime garb. WIDE ON THE PARANOROMALS KEN What is all the howling about down here? CLOSE UP ON- Trooper’s pillow who is missing from his bed. TRACEY (O.S.) Where’s Trooper? TINA Oh I’m sure he’s in here somewhere. JASON (O.S.) Here he is. CUT TO- Trooper shivering under the dinner table like Scooby Doo. WIDE ON- Paranormals as they all walk to the table to inspect Trooper. JASON He looks like he’s seen a ghost. TRACEY Maybe that’s the reason he howled. KEN Come on guys that silly Trooper probably just had a bad dream. BRYAN But boy wouldn’t be cool if Trooper had seen a ghost. TINA Okay everyone that’s enough let’s leave the ghosts and goblins for breakfast. The kids start walking out of the kitchen to go back to bed except for Tracey. TRACEY What about Trooper are we just going to leave him under the table frightened like that? TINA No he’ll sleep in our room tonight. Come on Trooper. ANGLE ON KITCHEN- Trooper walks out from underneath the table and walks out with Tina and Ken who switches the light off before exiting the kitchen. The ghostly shape reappears after the family has left. FADE IN- INT. Paranormal kitchen morning Tina is standing in front of the kitchen counter stirring pancake batter while Trooper shivers at her feet still shook up from his scare last night. Close up on Trooper shivering Move up to Tina Tina Trooper honestly you are acting like a frightened little puppy. SFX: (Wail) Tina turns around in surprise at the sound. Close up on bowl as it starts to float above Tina. Close up on Tina as the pancake batter is poured onto her and the bowl dropped on her head. Tina What in the world? Tina pulls the bowl off of her head. SFX: (Click) Tina turns around to see the refrigerator opens up by itself. Close up on refrigerator as a tomato comes flying out. Tina is starting to be hit by eggs, tomatoes, and other contents of the refrigerator. Trooper Yipe! Trooper runs and hides under the rug as Tina is pummeled by food. CUT TO- INT. Bathroom Close up on shower head running Pull back on Tracey in a bath robe holding her hand underneath the water to make sure it’s at the right temperature. SFX: (Wail) Tracey turns around in surprise at the sound. Tracey Is someone there? Close up on Tracey’s feet standing on the rug when it is pulled out from underneath of her by someone unseen. Tracey Whoa! Tracey falls backwards into the shower and an invisible force closes the door. INT. Shower Tracey stands up with the water running and tries to push the shower door open but it won’t budge, she tries to turn the shower off and discovers the handle won’t turn. Tracey is hit on the head with a shower brush. Tracey Ow. A bar of soap is stuck into her mouth and a bottle of shampoo Floats above and squeezes itself onto her head and the brush starts scrubbing it on her. Tracey spits the soap out of her mouth. Tracey Help! Help! CUT TO- INT. Jason’s Room Jason has just finished making his bed and is smoothing out the sheets. Jason There nice and neat. SFX: (Wail) Jason What was that? Jason turns around to see where the sound came from. Pan view on Jason as his bed cover floats up behind him and wraps itself around him. Jason Hey what’s going on here? Jason struggles to break free just as his bed sheets begin to wrap around him and his pillows are thrown at him. CUT TO- INT. Bryan’s room Bryan is pulling his shirt on and putting his glasses on. Oinks walks up to Bryan carrying his ball in his mouth wanting to play fetch. Bryan Sorry Oinks well play after breakfast. SFX: (Wail) Bryan and Oinks both look around the room in surprise. Bryan looks at Oinks. Bryan Did you hear that? Just then Bryan is given a wedgie by an unseen attacker and his underwear is pulled over his head knocking his glasses off. Bryan runs around panicking. Bryan What’s going on? What’s going on? While Bryan is running around his shirt drawer opens up by itself and one of his shirts floats out. Oinks sees the shirt float out and starts oinking in fear. Close up on Oinks as the shirt is stuck on him, then a pair of pants, and finally Bryan’s glasses. CUT TO INT. Hallway Ken is walking out his room and into the hallway. Tracey (o.s.) Help! Help! Ken hears Tracey call for help and rushes to the bathroom. INT. Bathroom Ken burst through the door and sees Tracey’s silhouette in the Shower struggling to get the door open. Close up on shower. Ken pulls the shower door open causing Tracey to fall out. Ken helps Tracey up to see if she is ok. Pan view on Ken and Tracey. Ken Tracey honey are you ok? Tracey is covered in soap and shampoo and her hair is ruffled from the brush scrubbing her head. Tracey (Belch) Tracey opens her mouth to answer her dad and bubbles come out of her mouth. SFX: (Crash) O.S. Ken and Tracey both rush out of the bathroom when they hear a crash come from Jason’s room. INT. Jason’s room Ken and Tracey burst through the door and find Jason jumping up and down in a cocoon of blankets and sheets. Pan View on Jason jumping up and down wrapped up in blankets. Ken grabs Jason and tears the blankets off to help him out. Ken Jason what in the world is going on here? Jason is about to answer when they all hear another sound coming from Bryan’s room. SFX: (Crash) O.S. Ken, Tracey, and Jason, run to Bryan’s room. Cut To Ken, Tracey, and Jason bursting into Bryan’s room. They see Bryan running around with his underwear over his head and Oinks running around dressed like Bryan. Bryan Help I can’t see, I can’t see. Ken Bryan will you hold still so I can help you. Bryan stops in front of his dad and Ken pulls Bryan’s underwear off his head. Close up on Bryan after Ken pulls his underwear off his head. Bryan I still can’t see everything’s fuzzy. Tracey Bryan here. Tracey hands Bryan his glasses. Tina (o.s.) What’s all the commotion about? Ken, Jason, Tracey, and Bryan all look out Bryan’s door and see Tina covered in tomatoes, whipped cream, cheese, and eggs. Ken What the heck is going on? Tina/Jason/Tracey/Bryan The house is haunted! FADE OUT END ACT ONE FADE IN. ACT TWO INT. Dining room kitchen The Paranormals are all sitting around the dinner table eating Dinner. Tina, Jason, Tracey, and Bryan are trying to convince to Ken who after seeing his family attacked by unseen attackers is not convinced the house is haunted. Tina For crying out loud Ken you saw what happened to all of us this morning. What more proof do you need? Jason Yeah, and what about everything else that happened to us throughout the day dad? Ken Like what? Jason Like what happened to me. Flashback: Jason vacuuming the back of his parents’ car when the vacuum stops working. Jason takes a look at the tube then his head is sucked in. Cut back to Jason. Jason It took me two hours to get my head out. Ken Oh that doesn’t prove anything. Tracey Oh yeah what about what happened to me? Flashback: Tracey is painting on a canvas when all of the sudden Two of her paint tubes float up and she notices them hanging in midair. Tracey Huh? The tubes squirt red and yellow paint out at her. Cut back to Tracey. Ken There’s a logical explanation for that. Close up on Tracey as she quirks up an eyebrow. Tracey Like what daddy? Bryan And what about when my truck chased me? Flashback: Bryan is playing with his remote control truck making it go around in a circle when it stops. Bryan moves the the controls to try and make it move when all of the sudden the truck moves and faces Bryan. Bryan runs away screaming as the truck chases him. Bryan Aaaaahhhh! Cut back to Bryan. Ken Maybe the truck is defective. Bryan Tell that to the truck. Bryan holds up the truck wrecked from Bryan having to smash it to keep it from chasing him. Tina Let’s not forget about what happened while I was watering the lawn. Flashback: Close up on Tina watering the lawn when the hose all of the suddenly stops. Tina looks into the hose then water sprays out at her. Cut back to Tina. Ken Ha, Ha, Ha. Ken stops when he sees the stern look Tina is giving him. Bryan What happened to Trooper and Oinks was really scary. Close up on Trooper and Oinks sitting in the corner both nodding in agreement. Flashback: Pan View on Trooper and Oinks. Trooper is chewing on a squeaky cat toy and Oinks is play with a rope toy. Trooper’s cat comes to life and growls at him Making Trooper drop the toy and run away from it. Oink’s rope wraps itself around his snout. Cut back to Trooper and Oinks. Ken Ok, ok I admit a few scary things happened today but that doesn’t mean we need to go jumping to conclusions here. Jason Conclusions? Dad for crying out loud my bed sheets attacked me this morning. Tracey Yeah Dad we all think the house is haunted. Pan View on Ken as he stands up with his hands sticking out. Ken Whoa, whoa lets calm down now. Listen after dinner why doesn’t everyone go to a movie. Tina What about you dear? Ken I’ll stay here and prove to you all there are no ghosts in this house. Tracey Oh I don’t know if we should leave you here by yourself after everything that’s happened today. Ken Honey I assure I will be fine and I won’t be by myself I’ll have Trooper and Oinks with me. Trooper and Oinks both get frightened look at each other with Frightened looks on their faces and beg Tina, Jason, Tracey, and Bryan not to leave them alone. Ken Now you all go have a good time and when you get back you’ll see our house isn’t haunted at all. FADE IN INT. Living room Trooper and Oinks are scratching the door trying to run away terrified of what may happen while everyone is gone. Ken walks in the living room and sees Trooper and Oinks scratching at the door. Ken Come on you two you’re both being babies. Close up on Trooper and Oinks as they look at Ken with frightened expressions. Ken Let’s turn the T.V. on and see if we can find a movie. Ken walks over to the couch, sits down, and is joined by Trooper and Oinks. Ken turns the T.V. on and starts flipping through the channels. SFX: (Click) Game Show Hosts (o.s.) That is correct you are our one million dollar winner. SFX:(Click) Baseball Announcer It’s a home run. SFX: (Click) SFX: (Click) Movie Announcer And now back to “The Monster That Ate Seattle”. Ken Oh this is a good one. Trooper/Oinks (Whine) Ken Oh come on you two it’s only a movie. Close up on the T.V. as the movie shows a man and woman driving in a car. Jane Hurry John we must get to Seattle before the monster. John Don’t worry Jane will be there before- Oh no on the road it’s the monster! A giant monster appears on the screen shone by the car’s headlights. Pan View on Ken, Trooper, and Oinks when the monster sticks it’s head out of the T.V. SFX: (Roar) Ken, Trooper, and Oinks are blown over backwards on the couch. Ken Run for it boys! Ken, Trooper, and Oinks run for the door, Ken grabs the knob and starts pulling but the door won’t budge. Trooper and Oinks scratch at the door. Ken Don’t worry boys will get out of here. Close up on the mail slot as it changers into a mouth and grows teeth. Close up on Ken as eyes appear on the door. Ken lets go of the door when he sees the door has come to life. SFX: (Roar) Ken Through the garage! Ken, Trooper, and Oinks, run off screen to the kitchen. Cut to the kitchen. Close up on the sink cupboard as it opens by itself and a bottle of dish soap floats out and squirts a huge puddle of soap onto the floor. Pan View as Ken, Trooper, and Oinks run onto screen and all three run on the puddle of soap trying not to fall. Close up on faucet as it extends out and wraps around Ken like a snake and sprays water out at him. Pan View on Trooper as his tail is pulled and he is sent sliding across the floor and (o.s.) into the living room. SFX: (crash) Pan View on Oinks as an apple comes out of nowhere and is put into his mouth and a frying comes flying down and scoops him up. The frying pan floats Oinks towards the oven. Pan View on the oven as it slowly opens and flames arise inside it. Close up on Oink’s eyes as they widen in fear. Cut To Ext. Paranormal house (night) Camera Angle on the house as Tina, Jason, Tracey, and Jason pull up in the driveway in Tina’s car. Close up on Tina and Jason in the front seat. Tina Well that was a nice idea of your father’s to go to the movies. Jason Yeah, we didn’t worry about the house being haunted the whole time we were there. Tracey You don’t think anything happened while we were gone do you? Tina Nah I’m sure your father was fine the whole- Tina, Jason, Tracey, and Bryan look towards the window and see Ken being sprayed by the faucet. Close up on Tina as she panics. Tina KEN! Tina runs to the door followed by Jason, Tracey, and Bryan and tries to open the door but it won’t open. Jason The back door! Tina, Jason, Tracey, and Bryan run off screen to run around the back. Cut to the kitchen with Ken tied in the faucet being sprayed by the water till Tracey, Jason, Tracey, and Bryan bursts in through the back door. Tina Hold on Ken! Tina runs to the sink and turns the water off. Ken’s whole head is soaking wet and he sputters after the faucet is turned off. Jason Here dad I’ll help you of this. Jason walks to his father and spins him around to untie him from the faucet. Ken is dizzy after his son spun him around and he falls onto the floor. Trooper (o.s.) (Whine) Trooper crawls on his stomach into the kitchen. Tracey (o.s.) Trooper, are you alright? Tracey kneels down onto the floor to check him over. Pan View on Bryan as he looks left and right. Bryan Where’s Oinks? Jason Trying looking up. Jason points up to the ceiling fan and there is Oinks holding on for dear life while the fan spins. Bryan Oinks let go. Bryan sticks his hands out to catch Oinks and he drops down on top of Bryan. Oinks (Squeal) Bryan Oof! Ken (o.s.) Umm Honey, kids. Everyone in the kitchen looks down at Ken. Close up on Ken lying on the floor. Ken I take back what I said about the house not being haunted. FADE OUT END ACT TWO. ACT THREE Int. Living room (night) The Paranormals are all seated in the living room talking about what they should do about their house being haunted. Ken Alright everybody we have to figure out how to get rid of the ghosts haunting our house. Camera Angle on Jason and Bryan. Jason Bryan and I have come up with an idea. Ken Well let’s hear it. Jason We think it would be a good idea if we moved out of the house and let the ghosts have it. Ken, Tina, and Tracey look at Jason and Bryan with board looks telling them their family doesn’t like the idea. Tina We can’t run away from this boys, this is our home. Close up on Bryan. Bryan Well then, how about I build a ghost blaster ray? Tracey leans into view. Tracey I think mom and dad would like an idea that doesn’t involve blasting the house Einstein. Tina We do need to think of Something. Tracey rubs her chin for a second thinking and then comes up with an idea. Tracey Hey I’ve got it. Jason Got what? Tracey A way to get rid of the ghosts. Camera Angle on Ken and Tina. Tina What is it dear? Pan view on The Paranormals as they lean in to listen to Tracey’s idea. Tracey All we have to do is have a séance to talk to the ghosts. Tracey’s family look at her like she’s crazy. Ken That doesn’t sound like a really good idea honey. Tina Your father’s right dear we don’t know what may happen. An umbrella is all of the sudden thrown pass Ken and Tina and is stuck in the wall like a dart. SFX: (Thud) Tina Let’s do it. Ken Good idea. Everyone looks over at the umbrella when they hear it pop open. FADE IN. Int. Kitchen (night) The lights are off, the only light is coming from candles burning in the middle of the table centered around a crystal ball. Tracey is seated at the table dressed like a fortune teller with her family sitting around the table and Trooper and Oinks sitting on the floor. Tracey Everyone join hands. Close up Tina as she joins hands with Ken and Bryan. Bryan joins hands with Trooper and Jason, Jason joins hands with Tracey, and Oinks joins hands with Tracey and Trooper, and Ken joins hands with Trooper. Pan View of The Paranormals seated around the table. Tracey Now close your eyes and I will try to summon the spirit world. Jason Try? But you said you could do this. Tracey It’s my first time so relax geez. Okay here we go. Ghosts we are trying to contact you please make yourselves known. The Paranormals all remain silent and seated waiting for something to happen. Bryan opens one eye and looks around. Bryan Nothing’s happening. Tracey opens one eye to look over at him. Tracey It will just give it time. SFX: (bump, bump,) Tracey, Tina, Ken, Bryan, Trooper, and Oinks open their eyes and stand up from the table when they see it moving up and down. Tracey I did it the ghosts are making contact with us. SFX:(bump, bump,) Everyone looks over to where Jason is sitting and they see him snickering moving the table up and down. Jason (snicker) Pan View on Ken, Tina, and Tracey. Ken/Tina/Tracey Jason! Jason Sorry I couldn’t help myself. Tina Jason this is serious. Everybody sits back down in their previous seats. Tracey Okay let’s try this again. The Paranormals join hands as Tracey restarts the séance. Tracey Ghosts we are trying to make contact with you. Everything remains silent as Tracey tries again. Tracey Ghosts we are- A female ghosts with brown hair tied in a bun sticks her face into Tracey’s. Ghosts Wife Ok, Ok, we heard you the first time. We’re dead not deaf. The Paranormals open their eyes all at the same time and they all go wide when they see floating in the middle of the table in front of them a ghost family. The ghost dad looks like a dad out from a 50’s sitcom wearing a business suit and tie, the mother looks like a 50’s style woman with her hair in a bun wearing a yellow shirt and white apron, their children are a boy wearing a striped shirt and ball cap, and a girl wearing a pink dress with blonde hair with a big pink bow. Tina Who… who are you? Dad Ghosts (sigh) We’re the Booleys. I’m George this is my wife Helen. George put his hands on Helen as she greets The Paranormals. Helen Hi. George bends down, places his hand on his son and daughter as he introduces them. George And these are our kids Willy and Louise. Close up on George as he closes his eyes and looks down as if he looks ashamed. George We were trying to scare you out of your house so we could live in it. Pan view on The Paranormals as they all look in surprise and asks questions to The Booleys. Ken Scare us out of our house. Why? Close up on Helen and George. Helen I’ll explain it dear. It was a few weeks ago. The screen becomes wavy as Helen begins to flash back. Flash back: Int. Booley Living Room The Booley’s are shown in the living room of what appears to be an old haunted house. George is sitting in an armchair reading the paper, Helen is knitting, Willy is playing on the floor with a toy car, and Louise is playing with a doll and doll house. Helen We were a happy ghosts family living in our haunted house. Camera Angle on George and Helen. SFX: (beep, beep,) George and Helen’s eyes get wide in surprise at the beeping sound. Pan View on Willy and Louise as George and Helen and pick them up off the floor and the camera follow them up to George and Helen holding their kids. Helen One day our house was condemned and torn down and we were made homeless. Pan View on the Booleys as a wrecking ball comes crashing through the living room and back again in front of the camera. FADE IN. The Booleys floating above the ground in the rain. Jason (o.s.) Homeless ghosts? Tina (o.s.) Jason shhh. The Booleys are flying through the walls into a house. A scream is heard. SFX: (SCREAM) The Booleys fly out of the house and into the next house. Another scream is heard. SFX:(SCREAM) Helen We flew to house to house trying to find a new home. The Booleys fly pass the Welcome to Naturalville sign at night. Helen Then we came to Naturalville and we thought we could find a home here. George We saw your house and it looked like a nice place to live. The Booleys are shown from behind looking at The Paranormals house. They are now shown from the front looking at eachother. Helen We knew if we went inside you’d chase us away so we decided to try something we never thought of and scare you out of the house so it would be ours. The screen becomes wavy again as it fades back to the Paranormals and the Booleys in the kitchen. Helen And that’s the whole story. The Paranormals look at eachother feeling sorry for the Booley family. Tina We feel really sorry for you. We do, but we can’t just give you our house. George We know so it looks like we’ll just be on our way again. Camera Angle on Jason and Tracey. Jason Well so long- OW! Tracey punches Jason in the arm. Tracey Jason we can’t just let them leave with no place to go. Ken steps into view. Ken Your sister is right son. Cut To the living room camera angle on the Booleys floating towards the door. Ken(o.s.) Wait, wait I think I can help you. The Booleys stop and turn towards Ken. Camera follows the Booleys gaze towards Ken standing in the doorway to the kitchen. Tracey Ken, what are you talking about? Ken I think I know just the place these ghosts can haunt. FADE IN on an old looking house that looks like it’s been abandoned for years. Camera moves towards the Paranormals and Booleys standing out in front of the house. Ken This old house has been abandoned for years because people believe it’s haunted and it sounds just right for a ghost family like you. Close up on The Booleys. Helen You mean we can live right here without having to scare anyone out? Ken Yep, you get to live in Naturalville and you have a new house to haunt. George and Helen look at each other and then down at Will and Louise. George reaches off screen and the camera follows to show him shaking Ken’s hand. Ken Paranormal I don’t know how we can thank you for this. Tina Just promise us you won’t haunt our house anymore. Helen Oh, don’t worry we won’t do that anymore. Close up on The Paranomrals as they smile with relief. Tracey That’s good news. Pan View on The Paranormals and The Booleys as the Helen, George, Louise, Willy, and Louise fly pass The Pararnormals, turn around to wave goody bye, and then materialize into their new house. Pan View on The Paranormals. Tina Well am I glad that is all over. Jason So am I. Bryan I’m tired. Tracey Let’s go home. FADE IN on Tracey in her pajamas getting into bed. Tina (o.s.) Tracey. Tracey looks towards her mom standing in her doorway. Pan View on Tina walking into Tracey’s room towards Tracey. Camera Angle as Tina kneels down to Tracey’s level she is on her bed. Tina That was a smart idea of your to have that séance. Tracey Thanks Mom I’m glad you think so. Who knew it would have led to helping the ghosts find a place they could live. Tina gives Tracey a kiss on the cheek. Tina Good night dear. Tracey Good nigh Mom. Tina leaves the room. Close up on Tracey. Tracey Boy am I beat. Tracey reaches off screen to her lamp and pulls the switch to turn it off. Tracey goes to sleep but then hears a sound that sounds like a ghost. SFX: (woooooo) Tracey turns her lamp back on and looks to her left side. Close up on a ghost that appears to be a sheet with a light coming from it. Ghost (woooo) Tracey’s arm reaches on screen and pulls the sheet off the ghost revealing it to be Bryan holding a flash light making ghost sounds. Tracey Bryan. Bryan opens his eyes realizing he’s been found out. Bryan Heh, Heh. Boo. FADE OUT. THE END |
