Like stones
Not thrown
Like rocks
Not chiseled apart
Like boulders
Yet to be fractured
All of your dreams
Fall on me
From the depths
Of your sleep
Downward they scream
I cannot move
I cannot refuse
Each glancing blow
Each direct hit
Sunken deep
Into my chest
The pain is great
Far more than needed
Your point overstated
Teaching me a lesson
The cruelest intentions
Meant to let me know
That this life
The one that I call home
Is not supposed to be
Killing me would be too easy
Much more torturous
Ideals you dare scream
Some call you their God
I dare not
Some call you their savior
I call you my punisher
Redemption means nothing
Salvation is an illusion
I cannot see
Beyond my own nose
I cannot believe
Beyond my own doubt
Are you real
Certainly you seem
Are you kind
I dare not say
I will not judge
I will not point
I have done too much
Maybe I deserve what you wish
Then again
All of your dreams
Fall on me
Down they come
Disguised as life
A livable feast of time
No longer hungry
I am slowly starving
Substance means nothing
Your teat has run dry
No longer fat
Sickly thin I appear
Near death
Most do in fact scream
Get some help
Rise from the depths
Of such overwhelming doubt
Swim to the surface
Become far less heavy
Expel such weight
Back to you
I am quick to scream
I was born
But I have learned
That being born
By itself has little
To do with living life
Say what you wish
Beg for the end
Or lend me a new beginning
I could care less
All of your dreams
Fall on me
Down they scream
Below I stand still
Ready to accept
All that you
God I dare refuse
See when you sleep
In your wilderness of fate
To be handed out
To people like me…
