A deep and dark poem about obsession and the need of others close to serve a purpose. |
-Somebody Like You- by Keaton Foster Waiting Wanting Somebody like you I know that you are there Increasingly near Unaware I am quite close Within my grip I could hold you Never to let go Making you mine A possession to adore An unwilling whore To abuse as I wish As I deem fit My sickness won't relent People like me Should not exist But we certainly do A hellish brood Doing what it can To feed an insatiable itch God could wipe us clean But he won't Such goodness Needs evil Needs doubt Without us People like me Not somebody like you Faith would not be needed Not be required Everything would be fine We add what is "not fine" To the equation of human existence Something thought minor Turns out to be major Light needs darkness Happiness need sadness Quality replies of tragedy Somebody like you Does not know Unaware your life grows Full of the lies that you lead Overflowing Bursting at the seems A fool in a world of beasts Creatures like me That wish you only harm We must take away What you have What you wish Replacing it with Something quite sick What that is I dare not confess I only will say that Somebody like you Will pay What exactly Why? Reasons unrefined Answers not to be spoken Part of the allure Part of the darkness The whole of nothing A complete season of ends Lived one second at a time I care none for you And the ridiculousness of your hopes I wash my hands with your dreams Of utter darkness I scream Soon you will see The nothing that I bleed These hands are close Within my grip All that I wish is For somebody like you There is no chance No escape Once I have you close I won't let go… Somebody Like You Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
