like rivers
on the map
of your hand

journeying
I float along
gentle waters
that yield
when lightly sailed
by fingers tracing

your knuckles
like strong mountains,
perilous,
separating lands

mesmerized
I climb
warm ground
covering
core of bone,
your center

sensing my stare
and intermittent touch
you ask me what I’m doing
I confess
your veins
like rivers
on the map
of your hand
