This is a collection of poetry that I'm working on for my grandson. |
I wanted to write something special for my first grandson. Something that would be different and challenge my newly retired brain. So I decided to write a poetry book for him. I've researched a variety of poetry forms, thanks to our very own ItchyWaters' Poetry a Day Contest, and shared them with my students over the years. So I've taken that idea, found poetry forms that start with each letter of my grandson's name and written a poem per letter for him. I've included with the poems the URL for the picture that was the inspiration for that poem. Thank you for reading. Please, review, I'll gladly listen (read) and process all advice. Amay PS- If you're wondering why these poems are all related to ocean creatures. My son and daughter-in-law are setting up the nursery with an ocean theme (complete with a surf board already). PSS- Once I finished Jonathan's poems, I decided to hedge my bets just a little. With a little begging and pleading to find out what a girl's name might be. I've decided to add poems for Esther Lynn (just in case). I wonder how many PS's one can add to a post script? Oh well. Now that Jonathan's ocean book of poetry is complete, and perhaps Esther's is done as well. I'm adding a new book which is going to challenge the poet and seamstress in me. I'm going to create a book with a variety of clothing closures- So what will that have to do with poetry, you ask. For each closure- I think a little limerick would be cute. |
